Every day, another health article drops about sugar, and almost every time, we get the same familiar tagline of: "Sugar causes obesity, diabetes, tooth decay!". But is it that simple? Is that the truth? The sceptic in me has played and toyed with the concept for a while now. And my findings and understanding will shock you down to your miserable core. You’ve probably seen me tackle weight loss while enjoying around 200-250g of sugar daily, so… where’s the disconnect? If sugar alone is the villain, why isn’t that showing up in the data, or irl. Todays article/propaganda piece came loaded with misleading pictures (as always). Notice the pictures of Twix and Snickers while the writer talks about ancient humans needing sugar to survive—huge eye roll. What they forget to mention is that these chocolate bars are just as packed with fat as they are with carbs or sugar. So, if we’re pointing fingers, which one’s really to blame? Not very scientific me thinks. Then there’s the “modern diet” claim. These writers love throwing around the idea that we're all drowning in sugary foods, using images of donuts to drive the point home. Again, donuts are actually higher in fat than sugar per calorie. Not to mention the infamous “polyunsaturated fats” hidden in those treats that do an absolute number on your metabolism. And let’s not even start with the “sugar is a drug” comparison. Sure, sugar lights up the reward centres in the brain—just like petting a puppy, winning a prize or getting a chest and bicep pump. But lighting up those feel-good spots doesn’t automatically make something evil. I'm not the only one seeing success with weight and health on a high sugar diet. In fact, it seems we had it all figured out decades ago. Brain lights up and says "SUGAR GOOD". Humans say, that means SUGAR BAD. Got it. These articles are pure bogus, written by baboons without an ounce of critical thinking. Eat some sugar and get that brain re-wired, then you'll see I'm right. www.msn.com/en-au/health/other/what-happens-to-your-brain-when-you-eat-sugar/ss-BB1pFPDh?ocid=msedgntp&pc=ASTS&cvid=e113c6a49b7448a58a734dad988b82a7&ei=21#image=6 Here is a link to the article What happens to your brain when you eat sugar?
