Check out each athletes recap of their performance at Victoria's StrongestMan + Woman 2017!
7 athletes represented Victorian Strength Club at the 2017 Victoria's Strongest Man and Woman.
We left the day with THREE first place finishes and a second place. Absolutely stoked for the whole teams efforts. Bec finished 4th place, one place better than last year, and made one mistake on the day which cost her a podium finish.
Liana's 4th placing was special as well, considering her training mostly revolving around shoulder rehab, and unable to train with most of the Strongman implements for quite some time.
Cori held her nerve in her second ever competition, and achieved PB's all day, which is exactly what we had trained for.
Mari surprised all of us (including herself) when she took out the win in the U82.5's. Mari finished outside the podium last year in her first Strongwoman competition. 12 months of training saw her with a first place trophy after an all round performance.
Scott's perforce on the day was near perfect, and a 2nd place finish was as exciting as anyone else placing.
Myself and Alira regained our titles of Victoria's Strongest. Alira neck and neck all day for a hard fought win, and I found myself focusing on not making mistakes and doing what I had to do in order to win. Nothing outstanding or out of the ordinary for my performance.
The crowd and the competitors were amazing, easily one of the best competitions I have been a part of. On to the Arnold Classic!
Alira 1st Place U65kg
Rebeccah 4th Place U65kg
Cori 7th Place U65kg
Mari 1st Place U82.5kg
Liana 4th Place U82.5kg
Scott 2nd Place U105kg
Smitty 1st Place U80kg
